Hi, im hoping someone can give me some advice.I was hoping to wait until Stonleigh but a Pinto manifold has just come up on ebay and id like to know if its suitable for my engine and if it looks like it will fit as im not hte most mechanically minded. I have a 2litre pinto from a cortina(i presume early 80's?) and have been told they respond well to a 4:2:1 manifold system. Getting the system made up isnt a problem as i have a good specialist locally. Its on ebay for a coulple more days and if you all think its compatible, ill try and snap it up,try searching for pinto exhaust on ebay, its black not chrome. cheers in advance

I have looked at the ebay manifold you are looking at. The main problem with manifoldsexhausts on the OHC engines on Jago's is that they tend to want to take up the same space as the steering column.
If the branch manifold is a "close fit" type that is it is designed to run close to the side of the engine block then there is a chance it may fit.
The picture does not really allow me to get a good idea which one it is.

i can see what you mean, i did notice earlier that the down pipe seems to be designed to bend around the steering column, perhaps it would be best to wait and get one custom made.

Looks to be in good condition. If you can get it for that price- go for it. Then get your local man to cut and shut to fit if it doesn't. Lot cheaper than a custom made jobby.

As Ian says if you can get it cheap enough then it is worth the risk and could be modified if required.
