Hi all, after selling my lovely Tuscan to the Russian for research purpose's (i cant and wont say any more just yet) the search is on for a saggy, there are 3 on here that i will be looking at but am i missing something as the 2 str8six are far more money than anything on here for sale,the one at Christopher Neil has less miles but is four grand less.
The only thing that is putting me off is the colour of the interiors, i don't know if i could live with the orange interior on the one at str8six and even worse is the one at Chris Neil, the interior on the green one at str8six is what i like BUT i don't like the green.
Is it a case of just biting the bullet and take what is on offer as there were not that many made, or wait forever for the right colour options to come along. Gordon

The car at CNs looks immaculate and well priced. Interior retrim to provide something more to your taste and you have a mint low mileage car for less than 40K. That would be the directiopn I would take if I were in the market.
As I'm sure you know, really mint cars are very few on the ground and most are keepers.

A full retrim on a Sag will cost you best part of £4k. This is the whole lot, full monty, leather, new carpets the lot. Would be good if you got spare £4k. I strongly believe that the car @ CN with more tastefull interior would be £40k plus all day!
Depends how much you change I guess, but....4K is the price is a premium price for retrimming TVRs. As with paint jobs undertaken in the old factory, there is a premium that is difficult to justify.
I still belive that armed with 40k, you would own the car and have it trimmed in quality leather and carpet rather than the cheap nasty original stuff..
But thats just my opinion based on knowing what a quality retrim costs by "others"

I would go and have a look before judging whether you like the interior of a car or not.
Examples:
A few years ago when I bought my TVRT350c from racing green, I knew the one I wanted. But when I went down to have a look, there was another one there that I had written off earlier because I didn't like the look of the interior when viewing on the internet. However, when I got there I realised that I'd written the other car off too early - I still went for the car I originally liked but had it ended up being a close call.
When I was looking for a Sag, there wasn;t much on the market so starting looking at cars that I would have other wise perhaps not bothered with. I don;t like green as a colour but was up Bradford way so called in at TVR MADS to see a green Sagaris with green interior. The car is now in my garage - enough said!!

My advice would be to hang on in there. The right car will always come up. Something I found when looking for all of my tivvers was the number that weren't advertised and threads like this prompted the owners to get in touch. I waited ages before I bought my sag, in fact it was a car I saw at a garage a year before it was for sale when it was being serviced, when I saw it I knew I wanted it and waited.
As an aside the F1 green is amazing and if I were ever to buy another it would be my first choice (that and orange
)

Thanks Tobbin for the sound advice, i think i will have to wait until the right car comes along, what is worrying me is that the bloody things keep going up, when in general tivs at this time of year normally go down, and for 40,000 PLUS this price puts it into, dare i say, TURBO 911 cars
Reading this thread nearly makes me cry... As I sadly had to sell my gorgeous mint low mileage Sag around this time last year for a lot less than I would get now.. I just wish I could of kept it forever as they are such a special car.. The lucky bugger who has it now has told me he will never ever sell it.. If your reading this Allan just make sure you give me 1st refusal in the unlikely event you ever come to sell my baby.

I know how you feel, i am having second thoughts about why i sold the Tuscan, anyway onwards and upwards

As for the Sag, no I havent owned one, I've came close a couple of times, and have owned a T350 previously, which I do miss a lot at times.
I went from an Exige to the T350, and it took me a while to bond with it as it felt so disconnected in comparison. Ashame really. Saying that, I absolutely loved the noise and the power of the TVR, something the Lotus can't quite match. But no car ive driven feels as good as a Lotus. Tough choice.
With the TVR I always had the niggling thought it was going to break, I've not got that at all with the Lotus. I've had a few teething problems but nothing unexpected from a new car.
Both cars have their good and bad points, and if I'm honest, and could afford it, id have both!
