I love my Arnage but lately Ive been drawn towards older rarer cars such as the Continental T,Continental Sedanca and the Azure.Id want a mint low mileage example-for instance the silver T that Bramley is selling would fit the bill quite nicely.Id put a rough value on my car of around £30k so it means I would have to find £40k plus to swap which is quite a lump.Would I be better sticking with my Arnage as ultimately the technology on the models I am looking at is older than what I already have or would the 'specialness' of a rarer model outweigh this??

I could certainly be tempted by a good Continental T, in preference to either a Sedanca or an Azure. Purely personal.
As far as technology is concerned, yes it's an older model/technology, but it all depends what you are after. For me it wouldn't be used an everyday car, so the issue of latest technology wouldn't be such an issue. As a longer-term 'keeper', the T would probably be better than an Arnage. Is yours a Green or Red label? For me, the old V8 is still a 'good' engine, even if it isn't the latest high-tech engine out there.

Mine is a Red Label.I'm not too bothered about the engine more about the suspension.I like the ride and suspension on my Arnage but I drove a Continental R a while back and didn't like the ride at all-my Arnage feels in a different league.The build quality on the Arnage seems better than the Continental series cars that the T and Azure are based on.

I may be prejuduced but I have a 2000 Continental R Mulliner. This is exactly the same as a T but has the longer wheelbase. It has the wide body and 420bhp engine and wallnut dash instead of the engine turned dash. Because of the wheelbase you keep the rear legroom. With the Azure you lose boot space to store the hood.
Make sure the hydraulic service has been done as all of these cars will have needed one either by time or mileage.

They may be big cars but they drive superbly. I took mine down through the Alps this year and it handles like a sports car should.

It must be optimism but the prices of my car , the T, the Azure and the SC all seem to hold up well compared to the R. I bought mine from Phantom Motors who specialise in these cars and are thoroughly recomended.

personally, I'd go for either an early "standard" Continental R or the previous model Continental, both of which are hand-built and just that little bit rarer than the saloons. Sure to appreciate, too.

The Continental can be had turbocharged, too if you look hard enough.
