I really hope the 'jobs for life' tossers freeze their nuts off on the picket line.
I bet they won't see much of their beloved leader today. And when that idiot Bob Crow does show his fat ugly face, I wonder which ridiculouis hat he will choose to wear?
It's nice to know they are pulling together when the country is in such shyte.

What gets me is, they make out it's a safety issue. But the CCTV is all remote monitored and I think the chances of a TfL ticket office monkey coming to my rescue if I was to be getting mugged on a platform are slim-to-bugger-all. Face it, they're not there to put themselves at risk and why should a tube station be safer than any other public place anyway?
Cant wait to find out what the northern line special service is today... last time it was 1 train every 10mins and then shutting stockwell down due to over crowding, then on to LB that also has jubilee running at 1 train every 10 mins.
LB will close at 8 due to over crowding but it wont be their fault... its ours for not backing them up despite a tube strike going on about 1 every 6 weeks at the moment.

+1 and I was kind of hoping minimans post was in jestI was in Prague at the beginning of the month and didn't have one issue using the metro, tram or bus, all the while not speaking to one member of staff
With regard to the London strike today, it had zero impact as the northern line is still running and Old Street is open, way to prove your worth you feckless w
kers, it runs smoother when you are on strike!!!Bob Crow is a complete and utter c***.
What gets me is that the strikers think they should be completely immune from job cuts which are going on all over the country because they've got a complete tool for a union leader. They're moaning about 800 voluntary redundancies being made, half of which have already been taken up. It boils my piss that they can cause so much hassle and inconvenience for what is a pretty trivial issue given the current economic climate.
Completely agree with the sentiments above about LU staff mincing around not really doing anything that looks like work, but if you believe what Bob Crow and the cuts do go ahead we'll be stepping over dead bodies and fighting off rapists and murderers on our daily commute.

Was it Reagan in the US who forced the US public sector to re-apply for their jobs with stipulations about striking IE if you strike you lose your job and you're never employed in the public sector again?
I wish someone would have the balls to do that here, you can imagine how many people would be queueing up to take a 40 grand a year with 36 days paid holiday tube drivers job.

s do not realize how good they have it.

i agree with them, i definitely couldn't use the tube if there were fewer people at the ticket counters.

Having been in London during the summer on a weekend, the idiot behind the counter couldn't tell me which lines had a full service, and which had a partial service. 59p for an iPhone app and I was able to find out.
Unless I have a need to go to the other side of London I walk now. Nuts to paying £1.80 for a journey.
Concerted efforts by many TfL staff volunteering to work at stations has meant there's a viable service for most. Striking over a non-issue at this time is absolute foolishness and the union members need to realise that Crow isn't doing them any favours and he won't suffer when they lose their jobs.
I drive in to North Greenwich and decided to head in early and the traffic heading through the Blackwall Tunnel was already backed up at 8am...

...of course most of the cars/vans doing this will be attempting to jump the queue and cut back in to the tunnel approach... blocking your route.

Oh, we had all of 1cm of snow, moslty naff wet stuff that was just a thin layer of slush on the roads and the amount of dithering people were doing...
I thought I'd see just how bad it was so, on a traffic-free bit, I hoofed it and then did an emergency stop (probably should have warned the wifey!)... Slight wheelspin followed by the briefest bit of ABS.
I know its good to not take risks but 5mph just in case your car explodes???
