Snow in Yorkshire
Discussion
Hi All,
Got a lot of driving to do this week, some of which is in the Yorkshire region.
Can anyone tell me whether i'm weeing into the wind trying to get to the following places:
From the St Helens area to Settle,
then Settle to Armthorpe, nr Donny,
then from Armthorpe to Normanton, then back home?
Will be over Tuesday/Wednesday.
Cheers!

i would have thought the only grey area would be your journey from the m6 to settle, and from there to keighley-ish. if the dales gets snow like the rest of the country, then you better get a good book!
keighley to donny, to normy and back home should be a doddle.
i live in east yorks which has been murder all weekend. i went to leeds sunday afternoon and the snow ended, save for a token effort, before goole. today it was heavy all the way to work in doncaster. people coming from wakey turned back but i suspect they are poofs.
all the motorways will be clear, i passed a couple of snowploughs on my way in and the surface was fine apart from the outside lane. you're more likely to be delayed simply due to traffic or a crash, seems to be one every day on the m18 at the moment.

If they were on the m62 at approx 7am I can understand why they turned back, 30mph on the m62 in a blizzard, all 3 lanes completely white over, all the way from pontefract through to m18 and about half way to m180 turning (I was heading from j27 to s
horpe)

). Probably 3-4 inches deep, but very very wet and I would imagine as soon as dawn arrives then it will mostly melt. I would guess that your destination in Normanton will be pretty close to the M62, which will be very well maintained.
