Love the lastest set of pics of this car in EVO. Talk in there that the car is in doubt(?!) because Alfa cannot see anyone buying it if they have to service it at an Alfa dealer (and with a brother with an Alfa GTV that spends lots of time at his local dealer and their level of service, I can kind of undersand their logic!!!)

However, mentioned that Alfa could release this most gorgeous looking creation on the basis that Maserati dealers would run the service side. Good plan, but I'm starting to think why not got the whole hog and rebadge it as a Maserati? Bumpt the price up 5k, tart up the interior with extra hight quality leather and drop in a tuned 4200 lump and you'd have the dogs danglies. (And an immediate sucessor to the 3200/4200).

discuss......

[but not with me cos I'm off to the pub thanks]

This really is a beautiful car. The front cover of this months Top Gear shows it next to a new Ferrari 612 (amoungst others) and it makes the Fezza look a total minger (in relative terms!).

I was amazed to read that it might not be produced as the Alfa dealers are too low rent. Whilst I know exactly what they mean, why not simply revamp half a dozen dealerships in order to service and sell the car?
Alternatively, using Maserati dealerships seems sensible, especially as the engine is derived from the 4200 coupe.

As for rebadging it as a Maserati? Well, it'd be a real shame for Alfa, but I'm sure the styling could adopt a few Maser styling cues without ruining it. Squint, and it could even pass for a 60's Ferrari (250GTO ish, methinks). As the 612 has taken a lot of flack regarding it's looks, I'd really like to see the 575 replacement go back to a more beautiful design such as this. Afterall, most of the Alfas, Maseratis and Ferraris from the 60's still look as good now as they did then.

Whatever, someone HAS to build this beautiful car!!!

May be this thread should be moved to the Alfa forum....obviously no-one on this one cares if it's built or not.

I would order one now if they were going to build them. Anyone got any current pictures? Won't be able to pick up the magazines until I am back in the UK tomorrow.
