Winter tyres for S-Max
Discussion
Hi, The offset for the S-Max is 52mm.
Any of the current Ford 5 bolt hole wheels will fit the S-Max, so anything from Galaxy, Mondeo and current Focus will fit. I currently have 17" snow tyres on the front of my S-Max.
If you are looking for steel rims the biggest Ford do are 16", these will fit on any S-Max, including those running 18" wheel, you will just need to adjust the 'profile' of the tyre.
I got my rubber from Mytyres.co.uk, they can also provide you tyres on steel rims, the rims are a lot cheaper than OEM Ford rims, though I can vouch for their quality.

Like an idiot I've just ordered the tyres from Camskill - I didn't notice that MyTyres did steels as well.
Local Ford dealer isn't too pricey for steels though.
Apologies for the exhumation but I wonder whether someone can answer this for me?
My wife has a 2012 S-Max Titanium X-Sport with 18" wheels wearing 235/45/R18.
I want to buy some winter wheels and tyres, and am thinking of going down to 17". I believe (it's hard to confirm via google!) that OE for S-Max in 17" is 225/50/R17
1. Can someone confirm this for me please?
2. Will they fit? (I'm thinking about disc sizes etc here...)
3. Can I swap to these without having to ask Ford to reset/recalibrate the speed sensor?
Thank you in advance!
