I'm keen to get the hard top of my elise to enjoy the car as it should be driven. In order to do that I need some form of storage bag and hence I'm canvassing for some opinions. I've seen the Impacta storage bag advertised on the web - those who have one, are they any good? Do they open out or do you have to slide the roof in? Well padded?

On a similiar note, I'm looking to buy a shower cape, but which one? The Elemental and the Eliseparts ones look very similiar but there's a 20pound price difference. Is one better than the other?

I know it sounds a bit pikey, but I used a large gravel bag to store my hardtop. It even comes with handles!! I wrapped it in a cheap double duvet from ikea (only £10) so it is padded as well. Total cost about £15. You can get the bags from diy stores...the type that hold 1 tonne of sand/gravel.

Then you have more money for mods!!

If you have a garage or similar why not make a bracket out of a piece of wood to hang it on the wall??

The Eliseparts shower cap is excellent - they do a range of colours to match your car too!

I just take mine off and leave it on the bed. Head out for a roof off burn with softie in the boot just in case, then pop the hard top back on in the evening when I return. Takes 10mins max and is better overnight... less condensation etc.

If not I like the gravelbag+old duvet solution - us Brit sports car enthusiasts are so resourceful! Nice one Rich

I choose to hang it on the wall, with brackets and foam sleeves for the bottom and foam patches for the top og the hard top...

Yep, I've got one of the Motobuild ones. Easy to fit, keeps the water out, does everything it says on the tin, basically.

Thanks for all your ideas. I've decided to use Rich's suggestion of a duvet (Dunelm's 4.5 Tog summer duvet as the hardtop will be on the car during winter) but get a cheap nylon bag made up to put it in.

I still would appreciate views on the Elemental shower cover.
