Hi

Now what are we going to do about BBWF 2011

We need to know what you would like to do on the items below, please can we have sensible ideas now the joke ones can come later!

1. Were do we hold it?

2. What is the ideal date?

3. What would you like to do or see happen?

4. For the evening how do you want to be feed and entetained?

There's no rush on the above but sooner than later!

Andy

1. Ettington's fine, albeit the food and drink is so-so.
2. July's OK.
3. Rolling road useful! How about a bring-and-buy, seems like lots of us have clutter we could sell... or swap for other clutter biggrin
4. Live band'd be nice; rain stopped play on the last one I saw (at the pub). BBQ-style catering... or how about a mobile pizza oven and beer tent?

Ettington's OK unless someone has any better ideas?
Would be nice to have trade stands but appreciate that they will only come if they can expect to make money - as someone has said perhaps we can do our own?
Although the hog roast was nice it worked out too expensive, Mrs Wedge & I had 2 pork rolls each and it was about £30? Not sure what other options the hotel will allow?
Rolling road always good - could we have a board showing the league table (we could even nail a bit on the bottom for Hotty;))
Live band or even mobile disco would be great in the evening.
Need some pre-printed maps (with sat-nav points) for the run-out - should we make the destination a bit further afield?

Thoughts?

Theres is a rolling road which has a 0-60 and a 0-100 test on it..Might be good..I found a company that hire stalls etc. They also hire beer pumps that pump 80 ice cold pints an hour and supply the days license..The company is called bigfun uk and they do have some good stuff,
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&am...
I was gonna use em for the colchester run that aint happening....Cheers..zig
PS:will post the site for 0-60 when i find it..Its gonna be at oulton park next year.

Ettington to me is good, very central in country so we all have to travel a bit, any further south makes it a drag for the scots!! what about a trip into stratford on a coach for a curry or something else its only a few miles so wouldnt cost too much. trade stands and second hand stalls would be nice too.

We don't have a time table yet, but would be an idea to match it so you can see a Challenge race on the sunday.
I think the few that made it this year enjoyed it.

if we know in advance, then I can arrange parking and discount entry

Thank's for thinking about us up here Jon, we'll be happy coming to Ett again, yes it would be nice to see more stall's and even bring and buy stall would be good. If there's going to be a theme then i think every one should dress up not just a few, if you dont fancy that, then some good music to suit all would be just as good. Food- as long as it's good and reasonable, curry, chinese if there's any or hotel food.

jonny.

I like that idea too Leigh. Mallory ?

Though only a spectator at the moment, I'd favour Ettington.
Packed lunch for me, as always, so catering irrelevant. smile

I got brassed off by EC Rodgering up my room booking last time I attended. So I didn’t go to the next one. Personally I would prefer somewhere with a field so I can camp. As I’m sure it’s not to everyone’s taste a nearby hotel for the softies would help boost numbers

I wouldn't mind camping, in fact I found a campsite near EC (well, 12 miles away) but decided against it as I'd have to stay soberish to get there and as usual I'd probably end up erecting the tent by the car headlights...

I'll admit I've not been to one before, but I really should!

As a newcomer, would it be silly to suggest having a look at next years TVR race calendar and invade one of the circuit grounds?

I.e. if there was race at Donnington on the sunday, have the main BBWF on the saturday on the grounds somewhere/paddock/infield (camping? - I've no idea about hotels), plenty of room for the stalls etc. But with the added bonus that we should see some of own racing on the sunday.

Of course I've no idea as to how this would sit with the circuits.

See my post above, as I race in the series

Will not be until jan/Feb till we know the tracks and dates we are doing.
But will let you all know as soon as we have them,
It's looking like we are going to have upto 8 wedges racing next year, so should be fun, esp as I should have my 4.6 race engine then, Plus Pete is going to be out in 350i with a race 5ltr. plus the 2.8 / 2.9 and 2.0 turbo's

When: July is good except 10th July weekend - British GP.

Where: EC gets my vote but equally I don't mind somewhere new either, as ong as they are car-friendly.

What: autojumble sounds like a good idea, also tea/coffee stand would be good if someone wants to run one. Some technical talks would be good too - I could do one on - reflowing the ECU common injection faults, etc. Hopefully traders will be keener next year?

Who: good question, I am looking forward to a busy work year next year so I won't have time, but I am willing to help organise a few parts of it and of course offer advice. So if you've hankered after running BBWF, now's your chance!

Evening do - hog roast could be better value - if you book it yourself rather than using the hotel. I have heard of a few peeps not getting much but I do't understand that, you can always go for seconds and I went for thirds! There was loads of food left over...

An alternative and not a million miles from Ettington is to spend the day at a Stratford's drag strip Run what yer brung with hotel booked in the town.

Now I like the sound of that!

Ettington is a good venue and if whoever is kind / brave/ mad enough to organise wants to have it there then I will come and be happy to help. My only critisism is that after a few hours of looking at the wedges there is not much else to do. If like this year the weather is not brilliant then it would be good to have something to watch or take part in.
