Winter tyres/wheels - advice please

As titled. My wife has a Mini Park Lane Cooper and I am thinkking of getting her some winter wheels (- steel?) and tyres. Does anyone have any tips or know the cost of either. I know there are some alloy wheels for sale on here and am not sure if a set of steel wheels would be cheaper. Is there any after market supplier who would be able to help - recommendations in Kent preferably please.

I have not asked her as I am away for the next couple of weeks but I assume she is running 16" wheels (is that the standard size for a Cooper?) so does this mean she will have to get 15" for the winter tyres? I take it BMW will have a recommendation for tyre and wheel size in the handbook.

Give your local Mini dealer a call, iirc a set of 4 15" steel wheels with continental winter tyres is about £420.
