Anyone live near Haltwhistle?

I know it's kind of NE/NW... but what the roads like?

Not quite Haltwhistle but near Hexham. Main roads are generally OK but minor roads are very difficult. The A69 is generally OK all the way from Newcastle to Carlisle.
