Had my E92 M3 stolen from just outisde my house in London on the weekend. Looks like they either had a copy of the key or they loaded it onto a truck/trailer! Ba***rds....
Exactly the same thing happened to my E46 M3 in London eight years ago. It turned up several years later.I clicked on this to see what had happened as a few weeks back 4 guys rammed the front door through at my mums house and got the keys to steal her e92 335i. Couldn't believe when I scrolled down and saw the reg as your car used to be mine !! - fond memories of a fantastic car BTW.Sorry to hear about it, these thieves are very clever and have ways to remove tracker devices - very few cars stolen this way ever get found (often stripped for parts or shipped abroad the Police say). Hope it doesn't put you off buying another !!

The cops said most cars are stolen to order either for export to other RHD countries (middle east, barbados etc) or for parts. Big Big problem for them and it's the more affluent area's that are at higer risk they say. Trackers help, but clever theives can find and remove them (as they did in my mums 335) before you notice the cars gone.
And the scum bag who took the car will get a negligible amount of money for it - in a way it is even more depressing for the owner whose car has been taken to think that it was taken for peanuts. Friends who had two expensive cars stolen two years ago were told recently (when one of the thieves asked for this offence to be taken into consideration) that the thief had received £400 per car. They were told the cars would have been shipped to Africa.
I'm really sorry to hear this Pistol.....it's pretty devastating to see your pride and joy taken like this.....like everyone else, I hope these thieving b
ds meet a bad end....they sure deserve one!
The horrible thing now is talking to your insurance company, being "interviewed" over the phone....just to check that you're genuine and not in on it.....they'll ask for your account, listen to your tone of voice.....they will ask you to go back and clarify something you said previously to see if you tell the same story....this process made me angrier than the theft of my car when it happened to me......liars tend to exaggerate things, get a bit excited ete etc
Get through this and get back in a new set of wheels....don't let the f
kers grind you down!

Boys cheers for the kind words, weirdly I am not that worried about it. I guess its because I haven't had to put up with any of the crap so far and the inevitably less than satisfactory insurance payout
I know this is the wrong bunch to share this with but I am thinking about an XFR for a change
The M3 remains the best car I have ever owned but it was going anyway when the 135 M arrives in May
To the guy that owned her before me, did you chip it? It felt much quicker than my previous one....it was originally from sytner soilhull?

BTW the not minding is more a result of the fact that I cannot believe how easy it is nick a car like that in this day and age whilst in the knowledge that no one will be brought to justice for it. I can't get away with anything (35 in a 30, using bus lane etc) and yet serious crims seem to have the last laugh. I know we all know this but at times like this it really comes home to roost
pistolp that m3 was a weapon. Looked nice to (big spec also!) She was running a DMS map and not sure which but one of the filters was removed, it was running around 445bhp i'm told - and had no trouble eating up rs4's, 911's etc. In fact, on the autobahn it happily kept up within a car lenght or two of an F430 right the way up to an indiacted 191 mph. Bought her new from solihull and the weird thing is my mum picked her 335i up the same week and both cars got nicked within the same week ! weird or what?! i replcaed here with a 997gen 2 c2s, but the m3 was quicker of the two. In fact, I only kept the porker 5 months and bought another e92 but a white dct - always been a stick shift man but have to say that dct makes a great car even better. Good luck XFR hunting - a neigbour bought a white XFR, you can get some good deals on them - they are very quick but I'd still have an m3 over one.

You both got cars from the same dealer and more or less the same time and they were nicked within a week? Crikey that sounds sus.no no it wasn't stolen twice!. pistolp's m3 was mine before he bought it, I had it from new and my mum bought her 335i pretty much the same time from the same dealer. Her car got nicked just before pistolp's - the spooky part is 2 cars I specced up and were delivered together got stolen at the same time even though they were miles apart . you could say they born and died together! Really weird or what!
