Just after a few owners opinions on what this car is like to live with. Is the mpg as bad as the figures suggest? Does the high road tax take the shine off it? Is it well screwed together? Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

We've a WRX-S, which in terms of fuel economy seems to be the worst of all worlds. My wife drives it and pretty much consistently averages 24.7mpg over the course of each tankful.

She bought it new so wont face the big tax bill until January.

Cabin plastics are a bit low rent, but not as bad as on the older models.

Of interest, the only car she / we would consider to replace it would be an STi, but that wont be for a couple of years yet.

Did a tour of Scotland about 18 months ago, one of the guys had an STI 330S.

One section was a 230 mile loop and the Impreza and another guy in an M3 CSL couldn't make it round on a single tank, both had to top up from a jerry can. We weren't travelling especially fast either as for the first 100 miles it was HAMMERING it down.

Seemed like a combination of a small fuel tank and poor fuel consumption. For reference my Elise only has a 40 litre tank and I made it round with about 13 litres remaining.
