Can HDMI cables be spliced
Discussion
It is not easy, but can be done, just cut the end off leaving enough spare cable, I solder the cores back together and use some sleeving over the joints.
You'll soon find out if you have been successful.
Alternatively you can use CAT 5 cable and some send receive/boxes, this will be more expensive.

Yup, done it several times normally after some numptie lifted the TV off the wall without unplugging it first and snapping the end off. As long as you meter out your connections carefully and do a neat job it will work fine. The longest cable I have done it with was 15m and it worked a treat.
If you wanna be posh you can go for something like this http://cpc.farnell.com/ikon/ep-hdmi50-st/module-hd...
