Does anyone have a good fudge recipe made the more traditional way? Milk butter cream sugar etc?

I want to make some that doesn't rely on condensed milk and hopefully for a paler colour so it can be coloured green (mint - I'm not just doing it for giggles)

Thanks biggrin

For anyone wanting a good recipe for peanut fudge then try this one:

Would this one be alright

Milk Fudge;

Half pint milk
1lb 12oz granulated sugar
4oz butter
2tsp vanilla essence

Pour milk in pan. Bring slowly to boil. Add sugar and butter. Heat slowly, stirring all the time until sugar dissolves and butter melts.Bring to boil.Cover pan with lid. Boil for 2mins.Uncover.
Continue to boil steadily stirring occasionally, for further 10 to 15 minutes (or until a little of he mixture,dropped into cup of cold water, forms soft ball when rolled gently between finger and thumb)Tmperature on sugar thermometer if used hould be 115-118deg C. Remove from heat.Stir in vanilla. Leave mixture to cool for l5 mins.
Beat fudge until it just begins to loose its gloss and is thick and creamy.Transfer to 7inch square tin and mark into squares when cool.
