heard that the cops will be doing people for having snow on their roof and 3 pts + £60 fine.

about time I say. saw people having to stop in the middle of the road to clear their windscreens after the iceberg on their roof had slid off!

They must be making a fortune in text messages as this is doing the rounds. Is it actually illegal? Is it that it could be regarded as a helf and safty issue.

Imagine being on a motor bike (not likely in those conditions, I know) behind that thing when the snow decided to come off. Can't imagine it would have a happy ending.

When it gets a bit more than "chilly" what may look like 4 inches of snow on the roof can actually be a one inch sheet of ice covered by three inches of snow.

If the wind manages to get under the leading edge of the sheet of ice.....

Anyone out on a motorbike in these conditions should get 3 points for being a berkshire-hunt.

Saw a motorbike courier out yesterday - these loons take their lives in their hands at the best of times, but he didn't seem to slow down at all on a snow covered road - only a matter of time before he goes under the wheels of a lorry, whilst his bike continues on into a packed bus stop.

I agree with the OP that people should be pulled for this. But your post sent a paint-scraping shiver down my spine!

Sometimes people don't have the option of how they travel, and it's not like everybody else on the road is Sebastian Loeb now is it!

In London you do.

Is any journey worth taking such a big risk? Motorbikes and ice are just pure madness.

Does this mean if it's snowing hard & your driving you have to keep stopping to clear the roof?scratchchin
