Sorry to ask another question about tyre pressures, but I am a little confused.

Last night I had a couple of new Goodyear NCT5's put on the front of my 156. Being the V6 variant, it is a little heavier at the front than maybe other types of 156.

To me, the tyres look under inflated. I asked the guy who fitted them and he said 30PSi should be fine. He went onto say that most cars run on 30PSi and only larger vehicles and low profile tyres need to run at higher pressures. This was backed up by the fact that my old tyres were considerably worn in the middle, suggesting that the tyre was over inflated.

Does anyone know what the best pressure to run these sorts of tyres is? (they're 205/60R15). If 30PSi is correct, then I guess they look a little underflated as normal

Look in the handbook?

My GTV V6 runs similar sized tyres to you and the fronts need a significantly higher pressure than 30psi. Let it drop a bit (not enough to make them "look" low) and the handling goes to pot.

Don't believe what a monkey in a tyre shop tells you - they tend to have a case of arse/elbow confusion.

{edited to add:} Mine needs 40F, 36R but I have a feeling yours might be more like 32F, 32R

I run 36 front, 33 rear on a 156 JTD with 215/45/17's.
Many people run more than that.
30 is way too low.
