No drama today or yesterday. Somebody actually appears to have gritted the roads this time - we had almost as much snow as the last 'big freeze' round herebut this time everybody just got on with it.
I appreciate this wouldn't be the case if you were somewhere remote, but it didn't stop chaos breaking out even in this pampered neighborhood last year!

Interesting results so far, seems most are at work
Sadly all our staff/directors are pansies so no work for me, actually I should be glad of that!
Told them I will pick everyone up tomorrow

I work from home but take my OH into work to save on parking costs. I couldn't get the car back to the house yesterday night so parked about a mile away, we walked to it this morning and the roads were fairly clear so we got into her office with no fuss. I came home, got the car to the house, started work... then the snow came again.
Now she's stuck in Leeds, buses cancelled, trains cancelled, roads gridlocked (apparently) and people in the office are booking hotel rooms. How does one of the largest cities in the UK end up like this?
I'm still working... bah.

Work At Boston Spa got in this morning and left about 11:15. Got home 10 minutes ago.Now she's stuck in Leeds, buses cancelled, trains cancelled, roads gridlocked (apparently) and people in the office are booking hotel rooms. How does one of the largest cities in the UK end up like this?

I got in and all my staff turned up on time, although all within walking distance!
Some of the bosses of the other companies in the block are a little surprised that our office is full and theirs are empty although some of their staff live no further than mine. Think they'll be having some words with the non attendees when they're back!
Can't believe that none of the roads are gritted (we've had about 4-5 inches of snow, Surrey/Sussex border) even though one of our local council representatives was on national TV a week ago saying they were fully prepared! I now presume what they meant was "We already have our excuses for our c
p response fully prepared"

It's the traffic from idiots that causes most of the problems to be honest

This is the one set of conditions when London truly aligns itsself with the rest of the UK.London(ers) just assume because there's a lot of snow in other parts of the country that therefore London has to suffer on their behalf. It's like the complete opposite of the olympics.
Even though THERE IS NO SNOW IN LONDON I hear on the radio things like "worst snow for 30 years"; "no gritting lorries" etc, etc.
FFS! When will the stockpiling of food start? If I hear "blitz spirit" on the radio it's going through the window.
