Winter tyre question

Hi all
Sorry, another winter tyre question. Im after buying a set of winter tyres for my 6 series (even though getting hold of them could be hard by now)
I have the 19 inch sport wheels fitted at the moment, I read these are too large to be any good in the snow though.
I've been lookin at Mytyre.co.uk for sizes and pricing, and the steel wheel sets. My question is, does anyone know what my recommended winter tyre size would be?

Have a look in the handbook it lists the correct winter wheel and tyre size in there.

The BMW accessory brochure I have lists 4x 17x7.5" alloys fitted with 245/50 99/H runflats @ £375 each. It might be a bit late to get hold of a set now but worth a try..

245X45X18 96 would also be a suitable size for the 6 if any were available. The tyre pressure sticker normally shows all allowed combinations, but I'm fairly sure if non-runflats were fitted they would need to be XL rated.

Maybe ask Tyremen.co.uk (received good service from them last month).

I've got Vredesteins on standard E92 M3 19" wheels and they're working really well in the snow, if that's any help...

Many thanks guys Had a look on Ebay and come across these which look ok, and nice alloys too. Would these fit on to the 6 ok?

I've ordered a set of winter tyres and rims from BMW who are doing an 'offer' on them. Still cost a few £££ but they had availability from Germany, most places are understandably sold out in the UK.
