Hangover's and eating
Discussion
When I'm hungover from a massive drinking session, sure I'm dehydrated and exhausted the next day, but I also get hungry... Really hungry, and will easily consume twice my normal amount of food.. Today has been three times the amount so far. Now, my ex-girlfriend never used to eat much at all when hungover, and would be able to go the whole day without eating, then would return to normal later on at night.
The eating thing; is it my body having a low blood sugar level (as it has been replaced with a blood-alcohol level
) and requiring food to build it back up? Or is it purely down to individual's tastes and habits?
ETA: Crap - I'm going to get slaughtered over my extra apostrophe in the title, aren't I? Let me off; I'm hungover

alcohol is one of the best food energies there is... it is essentially full of sugars so that shouldn't be the problem...
personally i get hungry on the night but can easily go the whole of the next day without eating...
different people have different ways of coping with the battering you have just given it...

Depends on the pinter level. If it was say a 5 or 6 pinter(i'm short and very slightly built) then no i won eat much for a whole day, then eat like a man just coming off hunger strike. If its a 2 pinter(and yes, i do goet hangovers after 2 pints depending on what drink it was) then i will pig out on rubbish food for most of the day, usually related to all day breakfasts and bacon sarnies

I'll wake up in the morning and not feel great, and not want anything to eat. Nothing til mid afternoon-ish, then bang, the hunger strikes, and i will eat like a motherf
ker, last time i felt like that i ate 2 footlong steak and cheese subs for afternoon breakfast type brunch.
Subway definitely mixes well with being pissed. As they're open 'til about 5 in the morning in town, I have often been spotted at 3am pissed as a fart in Subway ordering something... I'll also normally not finish a footlong and put the other half in the fridge for some reason (as if I want to eat it for breakfast?) and have discovered some VASTYLY insane combinations of subs before.. I think one had about 4 sauces in it and steak and cheese and that was it.. weird..

Home made muesli with lots of raw porridge oats to soak up the acid / alcohol and provide some sugar.
A bit later, I'll have a fetish for something like jambalaya or risotto or medium / madras curry - heavy stodgy rice based food that just sets me up nicely.
Also find a good white wine or a dry pink works wonders on a hangover.
