I've managed to go to work without a watch on.

Quite honestly, I feel as though I'm sitting here in the nude.

And that's not a good mental image.

Do you not carry a mobile phone around with you?

Heh. You must be new around here. You still think that watches are mostly about telling the time, or something daft like that.

I would see this as an opportunity to go and buy another watch. I mean, if you had forgotten your tie or your shoes, you'd go and buy the items you needed.

Come on, cheer us all up and buy something, then post some blurry pics in the Incoming and Wrist Check threads.

Now that is proper WIS talk. I love it.

That said, if you were a true WIS, you'd have a spare watch in case you fancied a change at work.

That'd be my decision! biggrin

Andy, having watches at work, that's commitment!

There is NO hiding place. {looks nervously over shoulder} Is she in here ?
I had to confess to mine the other day about the state of my collection as she was starting to think I was having an affair because I acted sheepishly everytime she came into the room when I was trying on watches and rushing to the hide them.

Nice! I haven't had to hide any yet as the collection so far has been quite modest. Need to put my new Steinhart on the incoming and wrist check threads. Reminds me of when I was first goign out with the Mrs and my head would swivel in the street. She at first thought I was eyeing someone up but it was normally a watch shop of some sort of car extoica and she now just finds it funny as I am looking the opposite way to a fit girl, and instead at some old Alfa / BMW / Porsche etc ;P

Exactly what happened to me a few days ago.
Wore my '62 Seamaster and managed to break the crystal...on my way home from work I handed it in for a new crystal and immediately turned around and bought a cheapish replacement to 'get me home'.
Sad ... I know.

I had a row with a local big name authorised dealer a few months back and as a result my stubborness has emerged and I refuse to even look in their window let alone go in and purchase anything. The missus knowing this likes to point out that she thinks said shop may have a new set of watches and do I want to go in and try one on everytime we walk past. She thinks she's funny. curse
