Hi All,

My room thermostat packed in last week and I have a Johnson & Starley JU55 unit. Do I need to replace the room thermostat with a modairflow unit or can I get any other unit?

Cheers

Sunil

Hi,

Sorry can't open link at work. I know it's failed as I by passed the switch and connected the red and black wires together and boiler on working with no issues.

Cheers

It's described as a "Johnson & Starley Thermista-Stat 208A321 Controlaire".

I have no idea whether it just a standard thermostat with a posh name, or if it's something unique to your system.

Its not actually a standard room-stat on those. Its a Thermistor type sensor, so bridging the wires won't make a difference as it works on resistance.

They are known to fail though.
