Hi all. I'm wondering what a service consists of on a Combi Boiler?? I've had mine in a couple of years now and haven't had it serviced!! Should really get it done! I might struggle to get anyone out with this weather, but was curious what is carried out on the boiler!?? Any info???

Didn't have mine 'serviced ' for 10 years, finally had it done last year, guy took the front panel of and vacuumed out the dust, checked the gas pressure for leaks, job done. I will not bother for another 10 years if that is all is required.

Clean the heat exchanger.
Clean fan.
Clean the electrodes.
Check for leaks on all internal pipework.
Check gas pressures and CO2 figures (at max and min if required)
Gas rate.
Check flow and return differential.
Inspect flue over full length including termination.
Check case seals.
Flow rate on hot, probably.

Or if you're BG.

Check flue gas ratio.
OK?
Go home.

I was somewhat sarcastic in my original reply, so I went Googling as well.

I found this link here:

My boiler is quite important to me - I'll think I'll be opting for a service, not a 'look-see'.

Any comments on that page from those in the know?
