Shogun Sport 2.5TD

I've been looking for a 4x4 for a while now. Nothing to do with the snow for a change. And I have the opportunity to trade in my lovely XJR for a nice price against a Shogun Sport 2.5 TD. I've done the google thing but I thought I would ask the masses here with all the knowledge on motoring the world what they think. It is a 53 plate Equippe.

A good mate of mine bought a brand new one, specced up to the eyeballs, and promptly sold it, at a massive loss, in less than a year.

Dog rough, incredibly slow, lacking anything resembling power, and not particularly good off road. Had nice leather seats, mind.

Sorry mate, but it was one of the very worst new vehicles I've ever had the displeasure to travel in (LDV works van excepted).

Friend's OH had one. From what he said, avoid at all costs. I think "dangerously bad handling" was the phrase. Also, ridiculously thirsty and iirc his was a diesel too.
