I was called to Harrow this morning as 6 sets of traffic lights had gone out and I cover the area. It was a no-brainer that this was going to be a local power supply fail, but what I didn't expect to see was this.....

That's an electricity sub-station in front of the car which has been hit!!!!! It's usually covered with a fence and shrubbery to disguise it.

Apparently the driver and 3 other occupants all got out okay with only minor injuries, thank god, but I bet that scared the life out of them!!!!

If the driver or his friends/family reads this, I wish all the occupants well and a speedy recovery from any injuries.

I take it the missing wheel melted. Bet the driver was out of the passenger side door before the passenger!

Nope!! Apparently the driver got out though his door window, cutting his arm in doing so.

I take it that the six sets of traffic lights are still out? Even if a replacement transformer is available it'll take time to clear the site and install it.

OP, are we ok to post these images? Just wondered considering people are injured.

Only 1 set is still out. Somehow the electricity board managed to restore a part service, even before I took those pictures. I have no idea how!!?

I did admittedly think hard before posting up, but my thinking was that there were no serious injuries and no fatalities. I've not speculated on a cause of the accident, I've wished those involved well, but if I'm wrong and the thread is in poor taste then I'm more than happy for a mod or admin to remove it, it was more about what they crashed into rather than anything else.

If you're sure everyone is ok then I'm happy enough.
