Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of the roads and how things are going towards gatwick...

I am going via the A13 to the Dartford Crossing over the M25 to the M23....

Does anyone know how the roads are and if it would be a good idea to do this journey?

If the roads are still very poor then I would rather not make the journey, so just looking for any thoughts you may have in particular the Dartford tunnel M25 or M23 being an issue?

Thanks all!

I took PH advice and have winter tyres fitted - if that would be of any help to me.

Will be fine now. Been raining and melted a lot of the snow. Main routes will be clear and you should have no trouble.

That was my thoughts.

Same here in London all the rain and warmer temps has rid us of the snow. I'm looking to go at 11PM-Midnight on Sunday...

My main worrys are due to this from the BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-11918236

I am now thinking I did not need to bother with winter tyres as its all gone now! Grrrr!

Can I hijack this thread briefly: Any idea how long it'd take to get to Gatwick from junction 24 of the M25 in rush hour tomorrow? I need to be there for about half nine - is it realistic in 2 hours do you reckon?

I would allow more than that. I would also go anti-clockwise, but the potential for it going pear shaped is MASSIVE. You can sit for an hour doing 15 mph on the M25 at that time without ever finding out why.

Time has new meaning on the M25!

Better to be really early and sit at Gatwick for an hour.
