4x4 Shopping in Bristol
Discussion
Hi = posted this just before the pub and as theres no response though id try here! -
Anyone know of a good 4x4 place in Bristol, has to be within 10 mile radius of the city centre. (friend is a doctor on call) for us to visit tomorrow morning.
Ideally has a range of marques, rather than just Landrovers for example.
Used 4x4s only.
Thought of Bristol Trade Centre but they dont have many.
Thanks

well my doc friend is looking less than 5 (2nd car to a super douper charged elise) - me....im looking 15 ish but not now. He's ready to buy now. me in 6 months or so....
So I think we need a budget 4x4 place for tomorrow morning if there is such a place.
Went today for a browse at the end of the M32 and found a great few garages selling 2 - 6 grand vehicles. Great afternoon from awesome jags to shonky all sorts. Only one freelander amongst them though.

The Mitsubishi place is also accross the road. As for dedicated 4x4 sorry I have no idea.

I'd forget it at that price point... he's picked the single worst time to buy a 4x4.
All prices will be inflated, likely that only dogs left in the system - no 4x4s entering the chain at the moment.
I'd advise spending money on winter tyres and look again in April...
This, if he is set on one then I'd consider less traditional 4x4's like Subaru Foresters which aren't on stilts but do have a good 4wd system. All prices will be inflated, likely that only dogs left in the system - no 4x4s entering the chain at the moment.

Easiest thing is to find a couple you like on Autotrader and go have a look, far easier the trying to find one place which does loads. Can set it for distance as well.
Good catch with previous postings - sorry - realised mine wasn't terribly constructive.
Subaru Foresters are a good call.
Or
The Subaru Impreza standard 2.0 is thirsty and unpopular, but very competent.
Does he need 4WD for ground clearance or the traction?

This is your best bet:

Bit of a drive from Bristol and you'll have to wait until the next auction but they do have huge numbers of all types of 4x4 and the prices are usually keen.
