To be honest, if you're okay up a ladder with a drill, then I'd do it yourself. You can buy a Sat Finder on fleabay for around a tenner, and then a dish / LNB / cable as well - probably les sthan £50 all in, and then choose your own Freesat box yourself, again off the internet somewhere.
I did the same a couple of years ago - took about 30 minutes to bolt the dish on the wall, run the cable, and find the satellite, and all for lett than £100 (including a second hand Sky box - but you'll need a Freesat from Sky card direct from them, for £20)

Last time (after a storm) I needed my reception improving I just called one of the advertisers with several local-ish depots from the Thomson directory. The reasoning being, if they operate more than one depot they cannot be awful. You get an immediate idea from who answers and the way the answer the phone.
They came the same day (Saturday), had a look and quoted a price. At this point you can tell them to go away and pay nothing, or they will fit it straight away.
I think it was circa £120 all in - new hi-gain aerial, new cable, 8' scaff pole etc. And its 3 storeys up - hence why I wasn't galvanting about on the roof.
He was here for more than an hour, initially tuning to Dorking valley booster transmitter but then having come down and checked went back up and re-rigged the aerial for Crystal Palace. He then made sure I was happy with all signals etc.
They are not all cowboys. Perhaps I was lucky.

For £175 why not just subscribe to Sky for 12 months on the basic package of £16 per month. They will install the dish for free. Then its your after the 12 months Cancel Subs and you no worse off12 Months @ £16 = £192 a little bit more but you get the extra few channels for 12 months.
I know you said you've tried them all - was this one in your list?

Gave good service when he came to us, has what appeared to be a very expensive signal checking box thing which he used to confirm it was our signal amplifier which had failed. My impression was he won't do anything which would only be a flaky repair.

We used Wokingham aerials when we had bad reception on analogue & digital. We have a very old aerial so he tested it to see if a new digital aerial would help but he said we were just in a poor reception area and that it would just be wasting our money to fit a new aerial. He didn't even charge us for the call out & test!
