I just had to ask - following on from my thread about ski boots.

I mean, they spend all their time sitting on their arses. Then clog up the ski-lift queue while they wait for their special snowboard mates.

They wear hats like silly

live and let live, but the one thing I dislike about boarders is the way they manage to scrape runs clear of snow

Nice use of what bait you have there but for the real fun you may want to slightly change it for your type of Phishing.

Actually not true. We only have one edge, skiers have two, and both are considerably longer than a board's so you are scraping more than twice the snow

Not this again!!!!

Yes they are biggrin

Anyway I don't mind them let them be, and they may hold everyone up, but they are funny! Especially when you run over their snowboard, and they cant catch you biggrin

IMO there are as many bad skiers as there are boarders...... in recent years with the development of skis they are the closest they've been in terms of where and how they ski/board together.

The reason why there appear to be as many is that alledgedly it is easier to learn the basics of boarding but harder to master.. so after a couple of days boarding a boarder will be further up the mountain but less in control.

Boarding, like skiing, if done well is beautiful to see.

I ski and board - both have their fair share of idiots!

Anyway, boarding for powder, skiing for pure speed.

I wouldn't agree here, within a few minutes I could ski in a 'snow-plough' fashion, be able to make any turn and stop easily, enough that I could easily ski down a mountain and feel in control (OK so it's not properly skiing, but it's enough to get by). Whereas to get to a similar standard at snowboarding took a few hours, having to learn to control my heel edge, toe edge and then learning to combine the two took a lot of falling over.
