Recommend a car for the Mrs
Discussion
The soon to be Mrs-B wants to get rid of her current car and replace it with something of similar performance, size and running cost. To be honest I have no idea what fits the bill so I was hoping for sensensible suggestions!
Currently she has an 02-reg 106 GTi with a few light mods (PeugeotSport exhaust, ITG airfilter, Bilsteins etc) which has been surprisingly reliable even though it's now on 70k. It costs her c£10 a week in petrol (f
k knows how!) but insurance hasn't been that cheap due to a vandalism claim (seems to be a magnet for Nitromors) and declaring all the modifications. While she likes it to be a sporty drive she rarely winds the revs up.
I guess the list of needs are:
1. Relatively good to drive with accessible performance
2. Good on fuel
3. Probably petrol (I could see the green pump being used on a diesel by mistake otherwise!).

What about a Ford Fiesta ST? They're well built, a hoot when you fancy a hoon and comfy and sensible when you aren't.
That looks pretty good for the budget! The FIAT looks like it needs another year of depreciation to come into range. Knowing our luck the value 106 GTi's seem to hold will run out of time if we wait until 2012.Gassing Station | General Gassing [Archive] | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
