PN05 OUX - Ex press car in York?

My son attends Askham Bryan College, where he's rebuilding his TVR, and he keeps being told by other students that a blue Sagaris keeps coming into college, and the reg. is PN05 OUX. Am I right in thinking this is the former press car? Before he was told its registration, he was also pretty sure he saw it when he was out on a drive after the Malton Big Breakfast a couple of months ago. Anyone know if it lives in York?

It is one of the old press cars, aptly named Mr Blue IIRC. It was sold early this year by Sebring, the subject of much debate on here but when sold it was a damned good car.

Actually, they aren't. But then neither are TVR's. It's all about how you look after them etc. When I owned Mr Blue, it was a bit of a dog as I've said many times, but it never let me down!

I have a mate who bought a ferrari 328 after his divorce just to pxss the ex off. bought the car from a ferrari club owner after many months of search and research, fantastic looking car but he was not expecting the running costs. Every year the sannual service was around £1500 as to keep the service history up to date it had to be at a ferrari specialist or dealer for an authentic provenance stamp, £150 an hour !!!! clutch 1000 miles, engine rebuild every 3000 miles, belts every year or the car would lose value thats without oil and filters. Talk about a money pit. It got to the point that he dare not use it in case he put additional mileage on it bringing it closer to another expensive garage bill. My opinion, and his now, is whats the point. TVR cars, even the sagaris may have a plethora of faults, but pound for pound good value, easily fixed and equally as striking and fast.

and I have a friend with an immaculate Ferrari 308. It doesn't cost much to run/service at all, it is damned reliable too. I agree the newer F-cars are expensive to maintain (and less attractive), but the right model can be a diamon - reliable like a good dog - akin to a good Chimaera/Griffith.You pays your money as they say.
Cooper Green if your friend was paying for an engine rebuild every 3,000 miles then there was a serious problem and he must've been crazy.
I did over 65,000 miles in a 550 Maranello, used everyday rain, shine, snow, whatever, and it never ever let me down. The only problem I ever had was a faulty power steering pump, which was covered under warranty and sorted out in an afternoon.
