Top picture looks like a fine car. Can't see what you'd do with the broken Lightweight apart from weigh it in?

To be honest I'd save/restore the Lightweight/Airportable and turn the Discovery in to a Tomcat or a DLander.

That way you will get two vehicles to enjoy, both distingtive head turners.

But that just my tuppence worth smile

The lightweight is going on top of the discovery chassis with the V8 (going to be a extreme off roader)

Are you going to lengthen the body or shorten the chassis?

I know previously it has been more common to shorten the chassis, but if you lengthen the body you at least have a longer rear propshaft and you could avoid an IVA test and remain legal.

No you have got it all wrong, you need to use p38 or Disco 2 axles as they are loads more work to fit and the wheel bearings are £270 each.......
