Best TV under £500

Folks,

Interested to upgrade from an LG 32 LCD as a christmas present for me.. Need 3 HDMI inputs at least, we use Sky HD and Xbox 360 and intend to pickup a gen 1 160gb Apple TV to accompany the replacement..

What do you recommend?

Not knowing viewing distance or size of display you can accommodate, the options from Panasonic are the 37X20 to 42S20 Plasmas.
The S20 just a bit over budget.

Just measured the viewing distance, approx 8ft 8, screen to closest "watcher" (me)

At that distance you'd need to consider a 50" TV minimum to see the benefit of 1080p BR movies.
Given no mention of BR, other than rips or trailers from iTunes Store, then I'd suggest the 42X20 would be the best compromise, with the 42S20 getting you a few features extra (chiefly the better black level) even if upscaling the 720p feeds from the 360 & Sky HD.
If the 50S20 is an option, budget & size wise, then you'd be more than happy for quite a few years, and have the 1080p option covered if you venture down that path.
