Defender tyres
Discussion
I need 4 new tyres for my defender. Its on 16 inch alloys .. 235/85/16 are the size I will be going for as they are a bit cheaper than the 265/75/16 and cant really see the point of really wide tyres on it (or am I wrong). Thinking about Bronco Grip Edge :: BLK 116Q which are only £75 a corner and the pattern looks good with around 60/40 road/ offroad bias. Has anyone tried these?

There is a lot to be said for the original 235 general TR's which are a road biased mud and snow with siped treads.
If you have a LWB then fitted with 30mm Spacers give a wider stance and more lock.
if you are a mud freak thet goes offroad then a mud terrain is better but I think landrover spend lots of dosh tyre testing to find the best allround tyre for all conditions.
a lot of 265 / 75 tyres look the part rather than work any better in real world driving conditions.
that said a BF goodrich only appears more expensive. the treadwear / mileage is unbeatable so for £40 per corner more I would often go that route.
This year I kept the std tyres and bought a winch.
