Or plenty of toys?

Didn't evo's press car come in at nearly £70k with the toys it had on it?

Don't forget you can spec an RS6 to near £100k and £70k will get you a fully specced M3 too.

Not really sure on the point of this post but, you know.

£70k is a lot of money, but you get a 4 seat coupe that can do over 170mph and has all the luxury bits you would ever want. Not what I would buy if I could afford it but it doesn't seem too silly.

How much was a fully specced Monaro?

I have always loved RS Audi's - The RS2, RS4 and RS6 in their current or previous guises have all been utterly cloud9

But the RS5? No thanks - can't really understand why but it just leaves me cold.

Same for the upcoming RS3 - although I think that's mainly because it's a fat arsed, bloated, ugly monstrosity that will come with 5 doors.
I'd have an old (1.8) S3 over the newcomer any day.

I didn't say it was the best way to spend £70k on a fast coupe just that it wasn't silly money in the context of brand new cars of that type.

I like it - and if one has the means to do so, why not buy one?
There's all sorts of motors at these sort of prices.

Saw RS5 yesterday afternoon - was bloody rapid in acceleration from a standstill.
I was impressed.

I'd doubt they are much faster if at all, entirely different type of car really. I agree, it leaves me a bit cold too, I never really saw it as much better than an RS4 although I do think they are great.

You could get an R8 for that! If less practicality isnt an issue.
