I have a 99T 1.8TS 156 and I love it. It looks exactly the same as the original launch car - silver, 15" alloys etc.

It's getting on a bit though and there are rattles and creaks. I would be grateful for any (cost effective) suggestions to improve it a bit. I like the wheels and the ride height so i'm not keen on big wheels and lowering, just what would make it feel good again. Poly bushes? too stiff? Strut brace? Light engine mods? breathing etc... Or is it simply a question of replacing all the 11 year old bits with new ones?
All suggestions gratefully received...

If there is a rattle sound on start up, then could be cam-variator - when you last have this done?
Cambelt and associated articles needs doing every 3yrs/36K and the variator if it needs it.

Remember the front suspension bits on these are prone to wear. I had a little knocking on mine but was only a suspension top joint and nothing too drastic. Previous owners have replaced much of the front suspension bits in the last 4 yrs, so mine is sound.

Poly bushes are a good idea, will tighten things up plus better life expectancy. However, this is not a cheap option to do the whole car.

Maybe look into the Harvey Bailey handling kit from EB Spares and get any bushes etc fixed while it gets fitted?
