Got up nice and early, and decided to defrost my eldest daughter's Smart car, as a favour.
Staryed the engine, fan on full deforst, and hit the heated rear screen button. Started to manually scrape off the result of our -15C night from the side windows, and the front one too. Moved to the back, and there was what appeared to be a red light IN the glass. Took a cloder look, and the element had shorted out and was glowing RED hot. Moved inside the car, and turned off the heated rear window. Sat there for a minute or two and BOOM, the rear glass exploded into a million pieces. A hot spot on a piece of glass at -15C was too much strain for it.
Got out of the car to sweep the glass off the drive, and my broom broke in two, halfway up the shaft.
Took my eldest to University, and on the way back some tit in a Mondeo estate took my drivers door mirror off the Honda. Halfords don't do a glass for this model, and Honda will take 3 or 4 days to get one, so just put a "universal" glass replacement in till I can get one.
Had the Honda booked into Kwok fit for an Oil and filter change, and had a peek underneath, as it had been dripping oil for the last couple of weeks, and the filter had a hole in it, from which my precious lifeblood had been escaping for the last couple of weeks.
Came home, and decided to feed the birds, so took out a new 25kg sack of wild bird food into the snow filled garden. Put it down, and boom, the bottom fell out of the bag on contact witht he frozen floor, so the garden now has every wild bird in Yorkshire in a feeding frenzy.
Should've stayed in bed this morning.

I might have read that wrong but i'd be glad you caught the oil filter today before the engine ran dry! Every cloud and that...
