I want to colour code the grill on my new Octavia vRS. I have seen a few colour coded and prefer it to the garish chrome that comes OEM. How much would an indy garage charge and how would they go about getting the Skoda race blue colour paint? As the grill is chrome plated plastic ste I don't really fancy doing it myself.

Pricing will vary by region and by the overheads of the shop, which include the qualifications/experience of the staff and the quality of materials used. To remove, colour-code and refit a grill, ensuring the chrome finish was properly prepped to avoid flaking later would be somewhere in the region of £150-250+VAT around here.

The VRS blue is a standard VAG colour and any mixing system will have recipe(s) for it, whether mixed in-house or by the repairer's paint supplier.
