...they are tailgating the gritter and flashing it to go faster (I assume). It's the funniest thing I'd seen in ages.

Of course the Mondeo driver had previously been a variable speed MLM. But as soon as he saw that gritter in lane 1 he latched on to that bad boy. I've never seen anybody deliberately get that close to a gritter and flash them before!

How long did it take before he realised the gritter was ignoring him and he gave up?

He latched on to it where the M5 M6 junction is J8? and he turned off at J10. It's all 50 limit at the moment so I'd guess that's 2 or 3 minutes. I hate to think what state the paint that used to be on his car was in...

Yes I did wonder if it wasn't his car afterwards. My 1st thought was Taxi but I didn't see any plates on it.

Gave me a good giggle from a few cars back anyway.

Arrr well that explains it - probably a 'local' chasing an icecream van.

Not his? You mean like he stole it?

Or, maybe he was so excited about making a rare sighting?

You sure the gritter hadn't reversed into him and he had got latched onto its towbar?
