One or two of them kind of work, but most look like they have been fast tracked to the breaker's yard, which is sad.

I liked the blow up doll sat in one of the passenger seats. hehe

Some of them look ok - The imperfect appearance works for a few of them, the older Golf and Polo examples generally standing out as looking better than the others.

I can see the 'art' aspect of quite a few of them, although it seems a bit odd to do such a thing to a car but obviously I'm not the target audience for this sort of thing.

There is some unforgivable turd in their though and the fascination with strapping assorted crap onto the roof is utterly bizarre but variety is the spice of life, however much of an acquired taste it is...

I think it is horrible, but at least isn't utterly bland and forgettable like virtually every modern car.

Couldn't help but laugh at the foot note of his signature: "Dislikers gonna dislike."

Fair play for doing it, but a little bit of me can't help but think that it looks like a steaming pile of excrement left in the sun and then smeared all over some shiny gold wheel rims - I suppose this makes me a "disliker" hehe

No, it isn't to everyone's taste.

Most people at least have SOME taste.

FFFIn awful is the answer, it is not a car that people with taste will like.

Ignore the expensive wheels and air ride and it is a chopped/ruined bmw shell. At one stage the car looked mint, now it looks like a mess and gets even more praise.

To me this is the perfect example of a car that so many people will say they love on forums but the guy could never sell that for a fraction of what a decent stock bmw would go for.

I think this whole new age of 'rat look' is a load of bks, I just don't see the appeal in taking a car the manufacturer's spent stloads on making sure it never rusts. And then applying loads of fake rust to it, it's without a doubt one of the most unoriginal and retarded trends going.

That said I think the 'proper' rat look is the dog's bks, where someone takes an old knacker, makes it fast as fk and doesn't bother fixing up/maintaining the exterior.

I prefer Bozoku to "Rat Look" but both attract a rather eccentric minority of car lovers.

I'd really like to have a ride in one of the super low cars just to see what the ride/handling is like!

I don't mind it on older cars because it does look like a bit of a laugh but deliberately putting a rusty bonnet on a Mk5 Golf etc seems a little pointless.

Even more pointless are the ones where they have painted the rust on.... Why. I mean shirly... the appeal is it's an old car that's refusing to die despite looking like it should fall apart. Not a new car that looks like someone has painted brown bits on it, or has had paint stripper applied to it.

Of course people will love it on a Rat look forum - everyone on there likes the rat look.

I'm pretty sure they dont do it with a mind on what the re-sale would be either. Its a hobby to these people so I say leave them to it.

But 'taste', like music or art is all beauty in the eyes of the beholder, is it not ? At least it's not a box on wheels, boring mobile.

And that, to me, is the point.. it's about individuality.

Why is it pointless ? The point of it, imo, is to be different from every other mk5 out there, to stand out. and that's exactly what it achieves.
