No this is not another fog lights question :P
I drove my car to work this morning and all was fine, then on the way back I noticed it was all a bit dark.
So i had a look when i got home and sure enough my mainbeams were not working.

I replaced the bulds and sure it enough it all works fine. Any ideas if this was just conicidence, or could it be a bigger issue?
If you could let me know what you think that would be great, thanks!

A couple of thoughts.....

If the battery is overcharging it can cause bulbs to blow, or.....

Not unknown for one bulb to blow, causing a small voltage spike to the other, which in turn can fail as a result

Could be that one has been gone for a while and you just hadn't noticed though?

Most likely thing is you just not noticing the first blown bulb and when the second one went you were in the dark

I used to find this very often when I did breakdowns

Called out to a bloke two streets away who I'd clocked "one eyed" weeks before

He blew up, all "No way have I been driving on a dud 'un!"

Oh well wink
