Abingdon this Friday?
Discussion
Anyone else heading to Abingdon on Friday? I haven't been there before but from looking on youtube etc the surface seems pretty good, although the loop seems pretty fast paced, and lacking any really tight corners?
It'll be the first time the 205 has been used in anger for over a year so looking forward to giving it a proper blast!

Hi Dave
This is me driving dad's 7 round Abingdon:

The track is fairly fast paced, but has bits to slow you down. The tight left at the end of the main runway is fairly slow and I was changing down to 2nd for it sometimes. It's quite an easy track to get right IMO (although looking back at the video I could have used a lot more of the track and got the lines a bit better).
Enjoy

It was only my second trackday and since then I've done a bit of karting in Club100 TKMs (2 stroke direct drive karts). I reckon I could knock off at least two seconds a lap now.
Just want to do another trackday now, but the Caterham is away for winter

There's a very deceptive acute left hander. It's the first left that you do after joining from the pit lane. Just before it is an oblique right hander that's quite fast, then a straight before you find yourself in this LH that never ends. Plenty of spin-off room though...
Otherwise it's a very nice layout - better for my Westfield than Hullavington because unlike that place it doesn't have too much flat-out straight, but offers nice bends and corners. MSE are good organisers too.

Sounds like Nick. Had a few laps with him last time I was there. He makes going sideways look easy.

I hope you hadn't booked and lost your money 'cos I'd have had the place off you at cost price! We should start a track day cancellation bazaar for just such events.

No, I block book so no problem they will just expect me on another day. Car will come back better with an extra 60bhp and stronger engine 1ZZFE in the bin hello 2ZZGE :-)Will have to get my Mazda running again as it's the proper track car.
