For me its the best looking car since the E46 CSL, just look at those arches. I cannot wait to get mine and BMW are almost forgiven for the GTS!

It's such a shame it's not being offeredi n DCT as I love the falppy paddle box in my M3, plus the manual boxes in BMW's do not have a great feel about them.

As a car, it's a bit small inside too, I had a 123d for a year and it felt a little crampped.

no doubt, this car will be a stunner and will apeal, I'll stick with the M3 though...

I think it's awful! Too small. I'll stick with my M3.

No wingeing about the size by me, it has 4 seats so will be positively spacious in comparison to my ZM. I'm excited, price it right and I might buy...thats if the used m3 market doesn't tempt me instead smile

Reckon this will look super aggressive on the road. I like. Dodgy number plate tho? Sounds like my in law when he just got cut up by another motorist!

50000 euros, ouch. Nice in 18 months time once depreciation has taken a lump out.

Looks very interesting. I can imagine buying one as a fun car once they reduce below £30k.

Pity the engine bays of the new turbo cars don't look very interesting (although the ariboxes of teh M5 V10 and M3 V8 are pretty dull too). The M3 CSL engine was a thing of beauty.

I'd have to drive one I think. On paper it looks a bit disappointing power / weight wise and expensive.

Love it! love it! love it! My small car replacement isnt due for another 18months but this will be right at the top of my list. The depreciation hit should have them around low-to-mid-thirties by then aswell (I hope).

I'd have one in the most basic spec possible please.

What is this orange colour? Is it available on other models or is this a new colour just for the 1M?

- and as BMW are saying their going 'back to their roots' I really hope they re-release some of the old classic colours. Estoril Blue with the CSL alloys in antracite would look fantastic.

Lastly - How can people say they are disapointed with the performance/power? 0-60 in 4.7secs is bang on the money I would say.

+1

I'd be interested in this in 12 months or so at 30-35k and also agree about the colour - launch colours of black, white and Valencia Orange (which is a metallic version of the M3 GTR orange) don't really do it for me but if they release it in a colour like Monte Carlo Blue or Frozen Grey (with anthracite alloys) i'd be much more interested.

Valencia Orange plus Sapphire Black and Alpine White are the only colour options.
BMW says there won't be any other colours offered.

Whether they will change their mind due to market pressure or not is another matter, but considering the relatively short production period for this car, I suspect that will be the case. There was a hint that at extra cost you might, and only a might, be able to order one in any of the other available 1 series colours......but, whether that happens or not is by no means certain.

That is depressing frown

Still wouldn't say no to a test drive though.

Engine lifted straight from the Z4 without any tweaking. Not really in the spirit of M-cars is it frown

It'll be brilliant, the amount of work they've put into the M specific engineering coupled with that engine will make it a belter.

Still nowt out there to replace my E46 M3. I will probably go E92 even tho its over-kill in terms of size etc. E92/3 is the last of the M Cars IMHO. Was hopeful that the M1 would fill the gap. I like to listen to the motor wail and exhausts fizz. May aswell get a Focus RS for half the price once you are in a turbo smile ?

My M3 is my favourite car ever! Fast, comfy(ish) quiet when needed, GT, economical enough, reliable (SMG included). I now intend keeping her much longer than the original plan since there is nothing that ticks all the boxes out there.
