I'm just about to submit a planning application for an extension. My local authority have an on-line application option which routes me to the Planning Portal website. Has anyone used this? Is it better to print all the plans etc and post or is the on-line option good?

Any benefit in waiting to see what the supposedly relaxed new regulations will bring?

I personally hand all mine over by hand and get a receipt.
Experience has proven for me this is the best way.

You could be waiting quite a while yet. The Bill has to get through Parliament yet.

Also nothing I have read is really relevant to house extensions, it is mainly referring to new build and development.

Get it done online - easy to fill out and it tells you if you have missed something that is needed.

Online is fine and has been around for over five years. Bit of a ball ache attaching the drawings/supporting documents though.

Certainly cheaper doing it on line as you don't need to supply six sets of drawings just pdfs.
