Yup, and I cannot wait to get started...I am a patient man, except getting down the 1/4 mile!

Thanks, Steve...

Builder,
Not a very originol colour though. But I must admit, when you can have any colour you can think of it's a bit of a head. It took me over 6 months to decide on the colour for my Noble and I still keep thinking about changing. Martin.

PS - I'm having it in Polynesian Metalic (think Rover Tomcat)

Well, the picture I chose is only representing what I am going to build (GTR). My kit is not on order, yet!

As for color, I haven't really decided. I like the navy-blue. But, I think the factory only offers a handfull of colors...white, black, yellow, red, green, blue, silver and orange. Otherwise, I would probably opt for something around royal blue.

Right now, I am deciding on general items, like the engine and powerplant, turbo, instrumentation, cooling, and other more functional components. Hey, don't get me wrong...color is important. The GTR is an eye-catching machine and it's got to have the right color!

Let the debate begin!

I am also considering sponsors; i.e. Mobile 1. So, white might be the best route.

I like the GTR in every color! Do you think Ted would sell a two-tone?

Ohh, Lordy. Heavens, no! I have seen that photo before. I am sure someone loves it, but IMO...what a travesty!

I like it too, though would not do it to mine. My GTR arrived in black, but have decided to paint it silver metallic - my favorite color on the GTR!

Okay, okay...I guess it's not that bad. If I end up with sponsors, mine could look a lot wilder than that!

I thought yellow was the best colour until I saw one in black a couple of months ago.

My next one will have to be that!

If I got mine sign written, do you think I put it down as a company car?!
Probably not.

just rolled out my Sports into the sunlight...silver is still my favorite colour...
I spent quite a bit of time researching different silvers before painting my car. I went with Millenium Silver used on the 2000-2002 Toyota 4-runner Limited Edition. It was also used by Lexus. There's a photo on the ultimaclub.us website, but to trully appreciate the colour you have to look at it in the sunlight. This stuff has a ton of coarse and fine metallic mixed into the basecoat. Damn expensive stuff. These cars have so many body curves that only a metallic or pearl trully does it justice (in my opinion). Looking at a solid red, blue, or yellow is nice, don't get me wrong, but add a metallic in there and you'll see two colours (light and dark) depending on the angle your looking at. Its really stunning on an Ultima. I'll add another photo of my car this week once I get my camera back.
Cheers!

ONE of the nice things about the GTR is, once it's rolling around Reno, I know there are only a couple of others within a couple of hundred miles. It's truly unique in a world of "me too" automobiles.

However...when it comes to color, it sure would be nice to see 5, or 10, or 20 GTRs side-by-side. Perhaps a trip to Hinckley, Leicester is in my near future!

Mack,
Thanks for the paint info. I am leaning toward recent Chrysler/Dodge Bright Silver Metallic as it seems to be the "brightest" I have seen, and up close it has more depth to the color grains.
Any tips on prepping the polished black gelcoat surface for paint?
