Can't we tell....
The contributions to this forum have dwindled to the hardy few!
Must be all those fair-weather builders and dreamers that have abandoned the forum for sunnier climes, or started their hibernation routine till the spring!
Never mind... us 'ard folk, will continue to keep the flag flying come cold, rain or snow, and wait for the little patter of feet returning when it's all nice and warm again!

Keith - the well-'ard 'old git!

Compliments of the Seasons Lads.
It’s supposed to be full summer down here in Melbourne, normally 30 degrees plus, but not this year. I think we have had 50mm of rain each day and its barley broken the mid 20’s. Most of the farmers are starting to complain as its been too wet to get out into the paddocks and get the crops off. Another week and they will be starting to either shoot again or go mouldy on the plants.
At least given the temperature the beer fridge is still full. Week and a bit to go of work.....the is will be a case of “Too the Shed”
PS – re heating the garage I find that those halogen lamps put out a bit of heat and have been known to drag the patio heater into the shed as well.

I am in the middle of insulating and painting my workshop. Making it a reasonably bearable temperature and light enough to see detail is proving to be time consuming and not cheap. I am using 170 lit white paint which may not be quite enough!!!!!
The hydraulic paint sprayer (Wagner) I am using is brilliant for large scale applications. It will apply emulsion, floor paints, up to non textured exterior wall paint. Bl**dy brilliant.
It will still cost a packet to heat when I am finished but nothing like as much as it was.

Ryan, Your farmers bad luck has helped improve world grain prices to the benefit of other farmers around the world.

They seem to be getting a bit of now. have installed/made some blowers to fit into the silos to dry the damp grain out.
the last couple of years around hear the yeild has been about 6 bags to the acre. this years its been running in the 40 bags to the acre range.
lots of running around looking for areas that have missed the wet, so trying to find a dry crop. change fronts on the harvester get all set up and ready to go, only to have another shower come through and have to start all over again. Ie ring up the neighbours and see if they have had rain over there, then rush of to the other side of the farm.

Ahhh...hellooo Farmer Ryan!
You know you should have NEVER revealed that, don't you!
...cos NOW, you have to be prepared for the stupid jibes about tractor engines for your new Ultima...are you going to fit a plough attachment, blah! Blah! blah....
..especially if 'The Dark One' Wayne..gets to hear! ...or even Crafty for that matter!
Anyhow, Hail from old blighty....had the real pleasure of working in Sydney and the interior for a month a few years back...and really did not want to come back!
...but then the Aussie Gvt would not even contemplate allowing an old git like me to stay for good!
