Not wishing to rain on this guy's parade but some of the odds were stacked in his favour. Rear engined, rear wheel drive, probably 2/3rds of the vehicle weight over the rear wheels in normal conditions, in this instance he was climbing a hill and carrying few passengers, probably significantly more than that. Cars looked to be front wheel drive, their traction would be compromised rather than aided when climbing a hill (unless they tried to go up backwards.....)

Still took balls to do it.

Look at how gingerly the Land Rover and Hi-Lux are coming down the hill - the surface must have been treacherous

Maybe he had winter tyres? hehe

The hill doesn't look that bad to be honest, but he is doing it right, keeping the momentum up and gentle on the throttle!

Good Bus Driver, But still a bus driver! smile

Lucky he's not in a bendy bus, when I was at Uni at Bath, the bloody things used jacknife and crash into eachother, paralyzing the whole area every time a few flakes fell!

Don't see what the big deal is, he's a bus driver, so was most likely oblivious to weather conditions like every other hazard and danger. Making it up the hill successfully was incidental.

That's becasue they were being driven by morons. That road looks more slushy than icy. I've lost count of how many times I've been stuck behind someone who wouldn't risk doing more than 5mph when there was just a bit of slush on the road.

Whitby.

I'm told, but it's certainly not gospel, that the bus had difflocks, traction control, or both - but still a good bit of driving.

Just checked out the video, it is Saltburn. Oh the joys of having spent so much time travelling in the North East!

Still thinks he can pull out into you because of advice in the highway code to let buses pull out, still pulls out in front of you doing 4mph nearly causing a pile up, still happy to drive over you if you have to cycle anywhere.

Sorry, I know all bus drivers are not like this, but 99% are and it really fks me off!

They really ought to get rid of that bit, far too many bus drivers interpret it as meaning they have some kind of God-given right to flick straight from left indicator to right indicator while you're already alongside them, pull out regardless and shove you into the oncoming traffic.

(Cue every bus driver on PH jumping on this thread and ranting about how they never do that and they'd never get anywhere if they had to wait for a gap in the traffic like everyone else.)

If there are bus drivers on here, I'm bloody worried!

Personally it doesn't bother me too much, buses are made from nice soft aluminium riveted onto a flimsy frame and my insurance company are very helpful, which comes as a shock to bus drivers when they try to drive through me.....

Hmm. In over 30 years of driving a lot of miles, that's never happened to me once.
