Anybody know the details of a 1978 BRG TVR 3000M Reg.No. SJP 697R for sale in the Leeds area advertised on e-bay. I am keen to bid but need more info. If anybody knows the owner/driver I would appreciate a message..

Is it 'safe' to bid on a classic TVR on e-bay ? What about Inspecting the car etc. before parting with the payment ?

I have bought a car off ebay with no problems, however I took cash with me when I went to pick up the car just in case the car differed substantially from the description.

If you are serious then I would suggest that you visit the car first and check it out carefully, then place you true maximum bid an hour or two before the end of the auction.

I bought a Taimar on Ebay.Wasn't able to view it as I live in Swansea & car was in Edinburgh. Flew up & drove it back. Paid £3200. It was tatty, but sound. However have since spent quite a bit on: stainless manifolds & exhaust, adjustable dampers and new springs. New drive shafts and Uj's, door and hatch seals. It now drives and handles well, but could do with trimming, sunroof and respray.
The 3000M advertised looks to have had all the expensive work done. It still has 6 days to go, and has several bidders, so it looks like it is going to fetch a good price.
