Looks like I need a new extra air valve on my pre-hotwire 400se to cure rough idling. Although there is voltage at one of the terminals, there is no resistance across them, suggesting an internal fault. Anyone know if these valves are still available new, or am I looking at a trip to a breaker. Unfortunately my 2 local Rover main agents are shut today.

Paul.

I have a feeling that this valve shows strange readings whenb you try to check the resistance.

When you say 'no resistance' do you mean shorted - or open-circuit?

what is the resistance to ground?

It would be useful to compile a table of nominal resistances for a cold and hot engine for all the usual sensors and actuators. Maybe I'll get round to it one day....
