I just put my curry in the microwave for a quick blast. As usual, I stopped it after about 30 seconds to test the hotness. It wasn't quite done so I closed the door and hit the start button again. But!!! This time the plate was rotating in the opposite direction!!!! What the fuxx is all that about?

You have either broke it some how. It has always done that or you are a bit drunk and it was rotating that way the entire time.

possibly has always done it, but I wonder why?
Possibly also a little drunk. But it's definitely spinning in different directions.

Most of 'em do it, under the case there are little people who have the plate connected to their head, they spin around to turn it but get dizzy so have to spin the other way to counter it!

Mine does this as well,i have never noticed whether it does rotate in different directions each time i use it,i only ever notice it when heating milk in mugs, which leads me on to why does the handles on some mugs get so hot you think the china is going to melt and on others stays relatively cool? (2 minutes is fine for heating milk btw)

... and I thought that I was pissed!

Next time, just order a fresh curry... that re-heating malarkey will always end badly.

The microwave has a tiny Boeing 777 inside it which drives a small conveyor belt which, in turn, rotates the plate. What you experienced was reverse thrust kicking in.

Mine too, though I instantly worked out it was a method of evening out the radiation. I also worked out about one second later that it makes no difference whatsoever what direction it rotates in, so I think it's a marketing stunt.
